As a longtime principal and District employee, I appreciate the often unsung role you play in keeping our schools running. Unfortunately, as "District represented employees" you have no protections and are among the last in the District without representation and the ability to negotiate.

A Tradition of Service

AALA has proudly served professionals within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) for over 25 years.  Since 1981 it has grown from a loosely formed association of certificated middle managers into a bargaining unit, ultimately agreeing to a formal union contract with the District in 1991. 

Associated Administrators has a history of successfully representing its members in a variety of venues whether it is negotiating with the Board of Education or advocating before the Public Employees Relations Board (PERB). Representatives from AALA meet regularly with the Superintendent and Board of Education as well as with other elected officials on behalf of the Association’s members. The AALA team has also developed significant expertise in due process rights, fair and equitable working conditions, health benefits and in negotiations. AALA seeks to share these skills with non-certificated, mid- to high-level professionals within LAUSD.

AALA is pleased to open its doors to a currently unrepresented yet critical part of the education community, classified managers and supervisors. Joining the new bargaining unit is easy!
