Classified Managers - Other School Districts

The Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) "Since 1988, United Administrators of Oakland Schools (UAOS) has included Classified and Certificated Administrators. From its inception UAOS has fought for the rights of all middle management administrators.

Our Classified administrators are active member of the UAOS council and works on the team to ensure that classified members are not abused in hiring, lay-off and the rehiring processes that occur. UAOS represents classified employees when there are issues with supervisors, and works to resolve these issues to the best benefit of the employees."

"As a classified manager in the San Diego Unified School District, for many years I watched managers and supervisors being treated inconsistently by the District. With a newly negotiated collective bargaining agreement, all classified managers and supervisors will now be treated equally and fairly.

Gone are the days of favoritism and "who you know." Now we have consistent application of the rules and hope to live in a much better work world by unionizing and putting processes into place that protect our classified managers and supervisors.

Good luck in your organizing effort!"
