Elementary Department Director
Mr. Siry has 36 years of service with LAUSD. He has taught elementary ESL in the Southeast area of the District and second and third grade bilingual classrooms. Also he was a Spanish Reading resource teacher. In 1985, Steve became an elementary Assistant Principal at Weemes School. Subsequently, he became Principal at Paseo del Rey Magnet, West Vernon Avenue School, Soto Street School, and now at Nora Sterry School.
He is a past president of ACSA Region XVI, and currently, he is a member of the ACSA State Board. He is now serving AALA in his second three-year term as an Elementary Department Director. In his spare time, he is an avid scuba diver and pilot of private planes.
