Adult Department Director
Mr. Avila has 24 years of service with LAUSD. He has served as a vocational teacher at Friedman Occupational Center, a subject specialist at the Central Office, and Assistant Principal of Operations at four Community Adult Schools.
His AALA experience includes three terms as an Adult Department Director. Other extracurricular experiences include the Literacy Network of Greater L.A., L.A. Marathons (2) with Students Run L.A., and SkillsUSA national competitions (3). In addition, Ben was one of the founding officers of the Angeleno Chapter of the California Association of Regional Occupational Centers and Programs and the Adult and Career Education Scholarship Foundation.
