Mr. Scher has been with LAUSD for 36 years. During his career, he has served middle and high schools as a teacher, counselor, dean, and a District Adviser. For the past fifteen years, he has been an administrator serving as an Assistant Prinicipal, Secondary Counseling Services, Beyond the Bell Administrator, and currently, an Assistant Principal at Byrd Middle School.
Alan's AALA experience includes two previous terms as a Secondary Director. He was just recently elected to another three-year term as a Secondary Director. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, photography, and mentoring other administrators.
